Adventure Tour in Cassis, Cap Canaille - 30/06/2010

Guide: Batel Sebastien
Cave July 14 is located in the middle of the cliffs at Cape Soubeyranne rabble. Cape Canaille overlooks the city of cassis and offers views across the creeks of the coast. For me, is one of the most beautiful place on the coast of Provence.
This Saturday, March 6 2010, i led for the first time, a team of 3 young eager for excitement and discovering. I started this team of Benjamin, and Rémi Thibault (twobrothers) to teach techniques to gain access to the famous cave of July 14.
The cave perched 45 m high, amound the circus of 14 July is accessible through two consecutives reminders of 15 m and 30 m. These recalls starting out in a squeeze who looks like to the canyon of the Gorges du Verdon. These reminders are very nice because they offer at each level a small terrace hanging comfortable and landscapes worthy of the film Avatar. We finally enters the cave, the cave opened by a vertical cavity of 15m and plunges into a network of underground passage ways relatively narrow. Geological concretions appear after a few meters and let's imagine the immensity of geological interest and underground networks of this cliff style Karst.
The return will be a climbing course because the team was found to be relatively athleticand motivated. Another return is possible by chaining an additional abseiling of 45 m, which can reach the trail Philemon (black line). Once back on the trail hiking 45 minutes (not the goat) can reach the ridge road.
In the end a new vertical hike (4 H), has been discovered and will now be given by Active Road.
